E-Markets, Inc. Announces Support for AgXML Contract Standard
in Attribute E-XchangeSM Trading Management Tool
Ames, IA -- December 17, 2001. E-Markets, Inc., the leader in delivering Internet-enabled business solutions for agriculture and the food industry, announced immediate availability of support for Version 1.0 of the AgXML Contract standard in its Attribute E-XchangeSM trading management tool.
E-Markets Attribute E-Xchange trading management tool, the first of its kind in agriculture commodity trading, is a sophisticated electronic platform enabling buyers and sellers to negotiate on multiple, quality specific traits of a product. The tool creates process efficiencies for both buyers and sellers through systems integration and time management improvement.
"One of the largest tasks in systems integration is coming to agreement on the 'language' of a transaction," states Chad Thompson, senior developer integration services with E-Markets. "By adopting the open AgXML standard, we can eliminate the process of creating and interpreting custom data formats, which allows us to place greater focus on solving real business problems for our clients."
Bunge North America's goal is to bring efficiencies to their sales and trading activities through its industry leading adoption of technology like XML and the Attribute E-Xchange trading management tool.
"Integration of the Attribute E-Xchange with our back-office systems, which use XML, will improve our operating efficiencies and enhance our ability to provide superior customer service," says Bill Towles, manager of e-business initiatives for Bunge North America, Inc. the operating arm of Bunge Limited (NYSE: BG) in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
